Does anyone have pictures of the Fun Day?  Especially the balloon launch, the stalls and visitors.
If you do please

Unfortunately the results of the Balloon Race came too late to be included in the next NewsLink - however, the winner is a Mrs Crisp, Bedfordshire - the balloon was found in Hebdon Bridge, West Yorkshire.

We consist of a small number of people who voluntarily give their time to rehoming those Boxers who, through no fault of their own, have to find a new family. We also try to help with general advice on the Boxer breed and any problems which may arise.

We cover a very wide catchment area ranging from Kent to Hampshire, from the South Coast to Bucks, Beds, Northampton, Herts, Suffolk, Essex etc as well as Inner and Outer London. We also liaise with other Boxer Rescue groups across the country and all the various Animal Welfare groups within our area.

Our work consists of booking in and vetting homes available, taking details of dogs to be relocated, transporting Boxers from home to home and running a back up service when required. Although we aim to place dogs directly from one home to another, it is sometimes necessary to invoke the use of kennels on a mainly temporary basis and only rarely on a long time scheme. For the latter, where there is difficulty in rehoming a dog, we operate a Sponsor Scheme, where supporters can sponsor a dog of their choice.

For more Info on sponsoring a dog please contact us using our enquiry form. Thank you

We also aim to promote responsible Boxer ownership by holding training sessions, mainly in basic obedience, together with fun classes for all, at regular intervals, near St.Albans, Hertfordshire.  Started primarily for the rehomed Boxer these sessions are now open to all Boxers and their owners, and usually provide a very entertaining afternoon.

As you can imagine, all these activities run away with the finances - telephone bills, petrol, kennelling fees and very often vets' bills.  We are a registered charity and rely very heavily indeed upon the donations for rehomed boxers and money raising events organised by the group and their friends - such as exemption shows, raffles, tombolas, stalls, sponsored events etc. but membership subscriptions play a major role and we are always delighted to welcome new members - it is one way as a boxer lover that you can surely help the breed that you love.  In return you will receive two "Newslinks" a year giving you a news of forthcoming events, informative articles on the breed, and stories about the boxers that you have helped to rehome.  If you feel you have the odd hour to spare and would like to become involved we will always find you a job - from vetting homes and transporting dogs, to the odd plate of cakes for the next social event.

More information about Home Counties Boxer Welfare may be found on our other pages and we welcome enquiries by telephone, e-mail or by using the Enquiry Form.
